In 1917, Melvin Jones, a 38-year-old Chicago business leader, asked a simple and world-changing question – what if people put their talents to work improving their communities? 93 Years later, a small group of individuals formed a new chapter of Lions Clubs International, The DuPont Lions, to further the dreams and passion
of Melvin Jones in the DuPont, Steilacoom, Lakewood, and Joint Base Lewis-McChord Communities.The DuPont Lions operates as a club and a foundation:

To be the global leader in community and humanitarian service. To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs. The DuPont Lions Club is a 501(c)4 social club, donations are NOT tax deductible. |
To support the service of lions locally and around the world by using our funding to develop programs that improve lives and better communities. The DuPont Lions Foundation is a 501(c)3 charity. Donations are fully tax deductible and proof of donation will be provided. Restricted use donations are not normally accepted. |
