In 1917, Melvin Jones, a 38-year-old Chicago business leader, asked a simple and world-changing question – what if people put their talents to work improving their communities? 93 Years later, a small group of individuals formed a new chapter of Lions Clubs International, The DuPont Lions, to further the dreams and passion
of Melvin Jones in the DuPont, Steilacoom, Lakewood, and Joint Base Lewis-McChord Communities.The DuPont Lions operates as a club and a foundation:

To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs. The DuPont Lions Club is a 501(c)4 social club, donations are NOT tax deductible. | To support the service of lions locally and around the world by using our funding to develop programs that improve lives and better communities. The DuPont Lions Foundation is a 501(c)3 charity. Donations are fully tax deductible and proof of donation will be provided. Restricted use donations are not normally accepted. |
